The Parks of Greater Loveland A true appreciation of the value of family, community and nature (Source: Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce)
The City of Loveland nestles up to the forested riverbanks of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River. The Little Miami Scenic Trail, commonly known as The Loveland Bike Trail, extends to more than 70 miles of other walking, running, hiking, skating and biking trails in Greene, Montgomery, Clark, Hamilton, Warren and Clermont counties. You and your family can rent a canoe, kayak, bike or skates and head out for a day of fun and outdoor adventure.
The City of Loveland maintains many park facilities for active recreation and leisure activities, plus acres of passive recreation land and dedicated green space. Total green space and park land represent more than 10% of the total area in the City, and are complete with picnic areas, river views, and concessions. Nisbet Park in Historic Loveland is the center for many family activities and the beginning of many walks and foot races. It is perhaps the busiest stop along the bike trail, offering respite among unique restaurants, antique shops, specialty retail and an art gallery. Special events sponsored by the City include the Small Stacks Festival, The Loveland Art Fair, the 4th of July Celebration, the Summer Concert Series, and Christmas in Loveland.
Golf courses abound in and around the Loveland area and Miami Township, which also offers five parks, approximately 300 acres of green space, and a skate park. This Clermont County Township provides arts and crafts nights, free movies, a free summer concert series, educational programs and more than 40 summer camps.
Symmes Township Park is a wonderful oasis with a man-made pond, covered pavilions, basketball courts, and an expanding network of walking trails. Lake Isabella, managed by the Hamilton County Park District is a 77 acre park including a pier, full-service boat house, and canoe access, and hosts fishing programs and kids' tournaments as well as all night fishing on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer.
