Every Child's Playground Sawyer Point on the Cincinnati riverfront
With the help of more than 30 companies and hundreds of volunteers, Every Child's Playground, a 1000 Hands/Cincinnati Recreation Commission project at Sawyer Point, is the area's first totally inclusive playground. Included in the playground are features never before integrated into a local play area. Among them: a paved pathway leading from the parking lot to the playground; tactile playground maps; tactile puzzles and Braille signage; therapeutic swings next to regular swings; a cushioned safety surface; height considerations; visual and auditory play opportunities and ramping throughout allowing for easy wheelchair mobility.
